Martyn Goddard: Hobart, Tasmania, Australia; I was a journalist/producer, mostly at ABC-TV, until 1989. Programs included News, Weekend Magazine, Countrywide, A Big Country, documentaries. Edited the Sydney Star Observer and OutRage magazine. Feature writer for The Sydney Morning Herald. During the AIDS crisis in Sydney, became heavily involved in health policy. Former member of the Australian National Council on AIDS and Related Diseases and its clinical subcommittee, and of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee. Former health policy officer at the Australian Consumers Association. Policy consultant for the Commonwealth Department of Health and a national medical college. Now an independent (and unpaid) journalist and policy analyst based in Hobart.
